my printmaking instructor is the best. I had her in my second year and I made my best work in her class (and even sold a work in my auction). She is from Germany and has the sweetest voice, but her words are so powerful. Every time she comes around and talks to us as a group or one-on-one, I am so inspired and motivated.
she’s been making us read this book called Metamorphoses by Ovid, who is an author from 43 BC. It is a classic book, made up of many books, with characters from all over the Greek mythology map. She said we will learn a lot about life in this book, and it has given me great ideas for the artist book that I am to create for the end of this semester
my design prof, Sue, is also great. I had her for two classes last semester, and I have her for two classes this semester. My projects in my regular design class consists of the following three: 1) a book re-design of our choice, I’ve chosen to do “Stranger Music” by Leonard Cohen, 2) a project for Smithsonian Folkways record label, and 3) a campaign for the faculty of engineering
a few nights ago I got to hear an unborn baby’s heartbeat in real life
this past weekend was my greatest birthday party ever. It consisted of two nights: 1) a free Friday night at the Hotel MacDonald, an 8 block walk downtown for snacks and liquor, a pool and hot tub to ourselves, dinner, breakfast, and Branden made sure we got a room with a view and a tour of the Queen’s suite, 2) Saturday night..what I thought was going to be 5 of us at the revolving restaurant, turned out to be a surprise party with 10 of my closest friends, a birthday cake, and then to Halo nightclub for a perfect amount of drunkenness and photographs
this week has been downhill from there, unfortunately
